Fashion has long passed being just a basic need. It has become a global phenomenon. From catwalk to street it touches almost everyone all over the world, not for nothing an amount of 1 trillion US$ are spent on clothing and footwear around the world a year.
Fashion is the expression of how we feel, how we see ourselves and how we wish to be treated by others; therefore it would be foolish to underestimate the importance of fashion in society.
Like Vivienne Westwood said “Fashion is important. It is life – enhancing and like everything that gives us pleasure, it is worth doing well”. So do I… or at least I try!
Fashion for me is excitement, a journey. I spent a lot of time thinking and researching about clothes and it is not understated when I say fashion magazines became my main source of life. Clothing makes me feel good. So why not publish all the fashion stuff online to turn my obsession into something productive and let other clothing lovers take advantage?
Welcome to Glamirrorous!
I guess, some of you will ask themselves why I choose this name. Well, I wanted the name of my blog to be catchy and mean something. Glamirrorous is a combination of the two words glamourous and mirror. Glamour, on the one hand, is the appearance of enhanced attractiveness, though the original meaning is different. In the past, especially in the Middle Ages, glamour was the ability of evocation; the desire to read into the future. Isn’t it the same with fashion?
A mirror, on the other hand, is an object with a reflective surface, which is commonly used for personal grooming. Mirrors are said to be the reflection of the soul. The blog is the reflection of my fashion soul.
Therefore Glamirrorous is the place for the expression of my love for fashion and the feeling of tomorrow.
