My name is Rachael and I've begun exploring the art of self-employed creativity through my online shop after deserting a library science career which kept me yawning and unfulfilled. I spent my first seventeen years in Natchez, Mississippi and since leaving home have only lived in cities directly off I-20. My passions are fashion, Gertrude Stein, living on the cheap, bright colors, cats, and my boyfriend, Milton.
My work mostly consists of handmade clothing and accessories created through the mediums of sewing, crochet and embroidery. It is largely influenced by vibrating colors, patchwork quilts, the diy movement, yé-yé girls, 60's and 70's home decorating books and Mary Quant miniskirts. I strive to present handmade fashion as a viable option to big box stores by creating items I love while maintaining affordability for the everyday
consumer.
