Aqeela's home & garden...
1
My name is Aqeela and im a 27 year old English housewife and Mother to my little 2 year old boy known here as 'Little D'. We live in Leicestershire in the middle of England. I aspire to living the 'green' life, and have done so since before it became fashionable. I enjoy traditional English past times such as; cooking, baking, gardening, crafting, sewing, and reading. I absolutely love home making but i equally enjoy spending the day surrounded by beautiful English countryside. I take pleasure in the small overlooked aspects of life and often absorb myself in the minute details of things such as the way the muscle of snails foot waves rhythmically or the way the sunlight reflects from a blade of grass. Im not a modern day woman, more of a traditionalist, and i get very agitated by feminism!Whilst studying Human Psychology at University in 2004 (aged 20) i researched Islam with the aim of disproving its origins and enlightening its followers to the joy of the 'real' world. I failed, and soon after converted to Islam. My life changed in so many ways but i now know where to find peace and truth. I try to live a natural life in the way that God intended, both spiritually and practically. I don't always succeed! My faith is intertwined with all aspects of my life and will shine through in my posts, but im unlikely to write about Islam extensively.I quite often write about our garden, growing our own food, our home, cooking & baking, places we visit and my perspectives on parenting. You may see some books and craft or sewing projects on here too.
I created 'Aqeelas-house' as a space to record my feelings and viewpoints, as i have found that writing helps me to clarify my thoughts and reflect. In fact ive always loved writting and as a child i wanted to grow up to be a published author and poet. That dream still lives on in me. I also hope to use my blog to inspire people in some small way, or educate them on something that they may otherwise have never been introduced to. I enjoy the community that blogging has created, and have become friends with other bloggers who are similar to me in some way or another. Thats one of my favorite things about blogging, x
