The events for the Ravelympics have finally been released. Most probably I will be competinh in WIPS Wrestling, possibly with a bit of Sweater Triathlon and Cable Steeplechase thrown in.
I recently picked up an old WIP. (That's what re-organising your stash does!) The Ten stitch blanket is so addictive. Suddenly you run out of yarn, because you've just been sitting there kn...
I seem to have developed a slight fixation with the Dahlia shawl pattern, because I am making two versions at the same time. Top one is in Semilla fino 100% organic wool, bottom one is Drops Alpaca.
I decided to go with the alpaca yarn after all, because I liked the softness of it. I'm hoping blocking will eventually help with stitch definition.
I am swatching for the Dahlia Shawl in Interweave Crochet Spring 2011, but I am having trouble finding just the right yarn. From top to bottom: Färgkraft 1-ply wool, Drops Alpaca and Lodband Einband....
This weekend I started knitting Lightweight Mountain Peaks shawl, but it just wasn't working for me. So instead I frogged it and started a long-awaited project from my queue: Laminaria!
The iPhone app for Typepad seems to be a little unpredictable in publishing my posts, but here is the finished John Watson sweater square for the Sherlock blankey KAL on Ravelry.
Working on a version of Lacy Bactus in a hand-dyed sock yarn that I got in a swap on Ravelry. A suitably mindless knitting.
I am working on something Sherlock related. It's a Dr John Watson sweater square for a KAL on Ravelry. There will be more with different themes from the TV series.
I'm test knitting a hexagon from the famous Beekeper's Quilt, which is a design I just love wildly. But to be quite honest I find I hate this sort of knitting. It's so tiny and fiddly....
Man scarf is finished. Blocking was rather unsatifactory. I really need to buy myself some blocking wires!
This is mostly for the students of my latest crochet class in granny squares and flowers. I promised them an upload of the patterns that we worked on today. So here goes: Mormorsrutor Blommor (The pa...
Swatching for Everyday Cardi from Crochet Today.
There was a knitting café yesterday evening at my LYS and I was invited to show some of my amigurumis. As always, a wonderful time was had by all.
I am busy crocheting flowers for my class next week at Litet Nystan. I will be showing three basic designs that should be fairly easy to learn. This rose was knit in Kid Silk Haze, which makes it ver...
I swatched with the Pakucho yarn today and wasn't happy with the result at all. So today I went to Litet nystan and took advantage of the 20% off on Drops Muskat instead. My cat will be dark pur...
As you may have notice I have recently become very fond of the Amineko crochet cat pattern. Now some ingenious person here in Sweden has decided to start a KAL (or should that be a CAL?) crocheting s...
So I ordered a different size eyes with wire loops for the bunnies. They were too big. I have now placed a third order for the size in between the too small and the too big ones. Sigh. Watch this spa...
I fell in love with Amineko a long time ago, but only recently did I take the time to actually make my own. I chose Visjögarn in grey (and some undyed for the paws and nose) and a size 3.5 mm hook.Th...
For those interested, I have been waiting for new eyes to continue production of the bunnies. They have now arrived, although I am a little unsure whether they are the right size.
I seem to be spending more time sewing that anything else right now. I am simply in love with that book... So here is a cat, all ready to go play. She's made from re-cycled wool (an old coat of ...
Here is Tag-a-Long Doll, also from the Wee Wonderful book. These patterns are so addictive! I can't stop making new dolls. Already planning another one. I'm hoping this will also teach me s...
I finally got around to making some of the lovely designs in Hillary Lang's book Wee Wonderfuls. What a joy to work with those patterns! Very clear and precise instructions resulting in thw cute...
I'm supposed to be preparing for a class in granny squares this Saturday and well, I am. In a way. I just don't have any photos of it. Bah.
I have finally finished the bunnies I started a few weeks back. They will go up for sale in my Etsy shop tomorrow!
Something is due to arrive in my household.
My name is...erm...actually, I don't seem to have a name. But I am all done now! I've been waiting to get my hair and scarf done for ages and finally this lady here decided she had the time...
What a wonderful weekend! I had the privilege of spending my time with nine lovely and talented beginner knitters of varying age - and there was even a man attending the class! I am still not quite w...
