Finally made it to weather above 45 F

Hello Albuquerque! As we leave the frozen tundra for a couple of months, I’ll post this last coat project from my sewing room before we left.

This houndstooth wool was almost felted it was so heavy. Got the last of the bolt from Gayfeather Fabrics in Madison, WI

I had the front zipper in my stash, which was handy.

Thought this pattern would be fun.

No charcoal lining in my stash, so I ordered this Theory crepe back satin, even though it was a bit pricey, from Mood. The color was perfect and I like what the call “cold dyed”, kind of like a snow dying effect.

The collar and cuffs are from double sided wool fleece, since I couldn’t find my wool ribbing until the project was done. Oh well, next time I need dark grey wool ribbing I know right where it it. HA
