How To Find Or Change The Windows Computer Administrator

Computers are set up with an administrator, and it is especially useful when you are working in a work environment. An administrator is free to block any online site or to prevent any file or folder from opening. A computer administrator is a person who administers or handles it. To change the administrator setting of the computer, a user must hold administrator privileges. There are many ways to find or change a system admin through the setting.

Finding and changing the computer’s administrator on Windows

1. Press on Start through the “Window” logo present on the desktop at the lower-left edge of the screen. Alternatively, you can press the Windows key present on the keyboard.

2. Now launch the Settings option, which looks like a gear-shaped icon present at the lower-left hand part of the Start icon.

3. Tap on “Accounts.” This icon is present in the mid of the options section.

4. Press the “Your info” tab at the top left-hand part of the Settings screen. Performing this action will show your profile account.

5. If the profile name displays on the top of the screen, then check that the “Administrator” written tag is showing or not. If it displays “administrator,” then you are the administrator of the system account. You are not authorized to change any other user account information if you are not managing an admin account.

6. Press on the ” Family and other people” present on the left-hand side of the screen. In case the option is not displaying on the screen, it means administrator permission doesn’t apply to your account. To get the profile information of your administrator’s account, skip to the previous step.

7. Now tap on the option named ” User’s name or email address” located at the lower part of either of the ” Other people” or under the “Your family” title.

8. Tap on the “Change account type” tab below the User’s name and email address.
