Review – Callaway Golf MAVRIK Driver : First Impressions

Around fourteen days before the 2020 PGA Show I composed an article that conjectured about what the MAVRIK (and MAVRIK Sub Zero drivers may resemble. That article can be seen here MAVRIK Speculation. In that article, it was my affirmation when I had posed one straightforward inquiry towards the end. It read this way.

Is MAVRIK "Rebel like" with Flash Face Technology?

At the 2020 PGA Show, I would respond to that question at Demo Day.

Most definitely, the Epic Flash (EF) was close flawlessly. It included entirely great looks, an incredible sound at sway, and the ballflight was long and solid. It was a sprinter up for the "Top Driver" Teezy Award in 2019. So the MAVRIK had truly huge shoes to fill.

The Set-Up

When taking a gander at the MAVRIK group of drivers straight on against the last couple of drivers that Callaway Golf has produced there are a few similitudes. Innovations like their long-standing "

OptiFit Hosel" and "Escape Technology" ring a bell. Presented in 2019 "Streak Face Technology" returns. Streak Face Technology, was the consolidation of utilizing A.I (Artificial Intelligence) in deciding the ideal face to coordinate the remainder of the plan. Utilizing A.I assists the way toward creating models. Truth be told, A.I permitted Callaway Golf R&D to think of 15,000 models in 2019.

For 2020, Callaway Golf created Flash Face SS20. This new face advances higher ball speeds over a bigger surface zone. Callaway Golf utilized "FS2S titanium, a very solid material that is 6 grams lighter than customary titanium" which further guides in giving ideal speed and absolution. T2C Triaxial Carbon Crown is an exceptionally lightweight carbon fiber. The weight investment funds in utilizing something like a lighter carbon fiber permits architects to put more weight in increasingly key spots. Like low and back, to help with absolution and take into account the simpler dispatch of the golf ball. A few grams doesn't seem like a lot. Be that as it may, as far as R&D with golf hardware, It means a ton of weight.

The MAVRIK is offered in three heads. The MAVRIK, MAVRIK Sub Zero, and the MAVRIK MAX. The Sub Zero highlights two exchangeable loads to calibrate your direction, while the MAX is their simplest to swing and is the most-lenient of the line-up . The MAX likewise includes two exchangeable loads, yet the thing that matters is that they are movable for absolution or to make it very draw-one-sided.

There are three stock shafts offered with the MAVRIK line-up.

UST HELIUM BLACK – 40g

PROJECT X EVEN FLOW RIPTIDE – 40g/50g/60g

ALDILA ROGUE WHITE 130 MSI – 60g/70g

Shafts are very important, and choosing the right one is absolutely vital as you will see.

The Transition

I visited the Callaway Golf corner somewhat later in the day at Demo Day. When that I had arrived, it was quite tranquil and I had no issue stepping in and making swings. The breeze at their stall was blowing hard from left to right.

I truly preferred the general looks of MAVRIK. MAVRIK highlights an orange/white shading plan suggestive of the X2 Hot. The crown looks sharp as a result of the carbon fiber crown and it flickered in the Florida daylight. The orange and white accents are elegantly done on the trailing edge and look keen. The "Chevron" arrangement help on the main edge of the crown is regularly there and gone is the white line "a third" of the route back as there was on EF (I never understood it. Possibly to outline the golf ball?). Altogether, the crown is generally perfect. Flipping it over, buyers are going to see the MAVRIK on the racks in stores. MAVRIK is intense in square lettering, while the white "pin-stripes" on the sole makes MAVRIK look quick, while it sits still.

The drivers that I tried at Demo Day were the MAVRIK and MAVRIK Sub Zero variations. At that point, I didn't know about the MAX form. I picked to go with 60-gram Stiff flex shafts in the two heads utilizing both the Aldila Rogue and the PX Even Flow RipTide. I won't deceive you. It was a battle.

The MAVRIK glances genuine decent in the location position and I saw one thing immediately on the main pass. The sound is unquestionably extraordinary in contrast with EF. With the EF you knew when you reached. There was some "stable" to it. Not excessively so as I would see it yet only enough to tell you that the ball was "hit". The MAVRIK is progressively quieted. Contingent upon the golfer, this may be liked. My initial a few swings were a hodgepodge of results. Some infiltrated and went straight. Others were very wayward (high and right) Maybe it was me getting drained, possibly it was the breeze, or perhaps it was a blend of both. I was confused. At a certain point, I felt that Callaway Golf committed an error with MAVRIK.

Prior to leaving, I returned to two or three different clubs that I put swings on with and afterward returned to the driver. Unwittingly, I snatched a MAVRIK Sub Zero with a X-Stiff Aldila Rogue in 70-grams. It wasn't until a while later that I understood my "botch". The primary swing was met with a sentiment of power and force. The golf ball flew straight. It was an eye-opener. I teed up another golf ball and it was business as usual. The vibe and acoustics of the head at sway was amazing, hot, and quieted. Not in a "ho-murmur" sort of way simply kind of astounding. You realize that you put a decent swing on with it, yet the quieted acoustics concealed the way that the golf ball was voyaging far. Swing subsequent to swing produced a similar sort of ballflight that I search for in a driver. Actually MAVRIK produced some fabulous outcomes with a breeze that was not complimentary.

The Finish

It's stunning. Coincidentally, the MAVRIK went from "zero" to "saint". I would cherish a stretched out on-course take a gander at this driver. There may be a level of truth to my declaration that it's "Maverick like". Yet, it's obviously better than Rogue.

Getting the correct shaft is essential regardless of the club or maker. This "Early introduction" made that plentifully clear. The mix-up that I made in incidentally snatching a heavier, progressively heavy shaft wound up being a redeeming quality. It took some work and an error to locate the correct mix. I'm happy that had occurred.

The net outcome is that MAVRIK is a "stick" that gives a great deal of pop, though in a downplayed way. It's quieted. Consider it a secretive professional killer. You may not hear it however when it sneaks up on you and is released it "executes". MAVRIK is anything but difficult to dispatch and is a head that offers lower turn. The MAVRIK driver discovered its way into the Teezy Awards conversation for "Top Driver".

Until The Next Tee!!
