Dog Cafes seem to be popping up more and more around town these days.
Recently I visited a cafe for a latte and didn't realise it was a Dog Cafe until walking in. The cafe was set out really well and I was impressed with the food also. The coffee tasted great and the atmosphere was nice too as I was able to meet some friendly dogs along the way.
There was a Dog grooming salon available onsite too. Dog groomers will know they have more things to worry about than snacks. Dog grooming is currently a significant trend with animal fans shifting their pampered pooches to"the teddy bear seem" or even "the rag doll look". There was a few different styles walking in and out as I enjoyed my breakfast.
After meeting the owner and finding out more, I was told they had a Doggy Daycare centre also out the back and that I could drop off my pooch and still go to work while they look after it. I asked how long they had been in operation and I was told 5 years. It was certainly a surprise as I had often travelled from Mirrabooka, to Osborne Park and never noticed it there in Westminister.
From my visit I was able to discern that this is a much needed type of cafe in Perth. Dogs need to socialise just as much as humans and we forget the luxuries of eating good food and coffee, whilst sometimes forgetting mans best friend.
If you were looking for something a little different, or you wanted to pamper your pooch with his/her very own Birthday cake, then a dog Cafe is for you. You could even pick up some fabulous gift ideas and pet accessories in the boutique.
