Paraguay Is The Happiest Nation in the World According To The BBC

Paraguay is a landlocked country in South America with little tourism and has always been rated as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Ignoring that, a worldwide BBC gallop poll has shown that Paraguayans are mostly content with life. Meanwhile, most other countries are stressed and angry.

While there is no clear explanation on the surface, the quality of life in Paraguay could be due to the rapidly growing economy, lowering crime rates and having a very low cost of living. Employment rates are high and everybody is well-fed, albeit lacking the luxurious of the First World.

Corruption and disorder in this country is still a serious matter as people at the lower ends of society are being failed by the government and mostly rely on the private sector. While healthcare is free, hospitals are in squalor conditions and those that have money use private health insurance.
