5 Fundamental Features of Tactical Knives
There is no specific way to define a tactical knife. These knives have no specific shapes or designs. Also, there are no specific uses associated with these tactical knives.
This makes it harder for someone to understand what sort of knives these are. So, what exactly a tactical knife is?
Well, there is no single word to describe tactical knives. But, there are a few significant features that describe these knives.
To know whether your knives are tactical or not, check them for following features. If your knife has these features, yes, it is a tactical knife.
1. Full Tang Blades
Tactical knives always have full tang blades. There are basically two types of blades in fixed blade knives. There is either a full tang blade or a half tang blade.
Half tang blade is more common, but powerful knives always have full tang blades. So, if your knife is supposed to be tactical, it must have a full tang blade which will give it strength.
2. Ergonomic Handles
Ergonomic handle is the other significant feature of tactical knives. Ergonomic handle means a strong and comfortable grip. When you hold the knife, it must feel comfortable in your hands. In addition, it must be easy to grip and never feel uncomfortable.
3. Partially Serrated Blades
The blades are either fully serrated or partially serrated or there are no serrations at all on the blade. In the case of tactical cool knives, there is always a partially serrated blade. This makes them multipurpose knives. These knives can serve plenty of purposes.
4. Appropriate Size
Tactical knife must have an appropriate size that feels comfortable. It should not be too large or too small. There must be the right size that user feel comfortable using.
5. Tactical Features
Finally, tactical knives should have tactical features. There should be additional parts attached to them that come helpful in different tasks. For instance, there must be a glass breaker, a window smasher, a fire starter etc.
