I'm sure you've heard people say take a break, do something nice for yourself, and even that you should save yourself first because you can't help anyone else if you don't... that kind of thing. It's truly not a new concept that that you'll feel better and be more productive if you treat yourself well.
I just want to put it out there, a kind of reminder, that it's okay to keep something back in life for yourself. It isn't going to make you bad or selfish if you just need time to recoup, or you want... I don't know... a candy bar for yourself without sharing it with your kids. (Odd example - sorry - shouldn't have let myself think about candy when I'm trying to write, I guess.)
As adults, we tend to put everyone else's needs above our own, and that can really leave us floundering and struggling in life. I just makes even the simplest things seem overwhelming if you don't have something in your life that rejuvenates your spirit.
Really, it's more than okay to do something for yourself; you OWE it to the people around you who count on you to take care of yourself. So, go ahead, save yourself first, take a bubble bath, get a pedicure, go shopping, whatever does it for you - so you can be the rock your family, friends, and co-workers count on. After all, you really can't help them if you're not okay yourself.
