Breast Lift Recovery Time

Cosmetic surgery can hide the signs and effects of aging. There are many surgical procedures to get back your youth and charming look. You will also find a variety of breast lift techniques. Each has some specific recovery process. In this article, we will focus on breast lift recovery time. For a fast recovery, you need to follow post-surgery instructions regardless of the surgery type. Here are a few tips to speed up your recovery process.

Breast Lift Recovery Time

Wear a Compression Bra

A compression or sports bra can speed up your healing. Also, these garments are effective to improve blood flow and to reduce swelling. You will get required comfort and it will help your skin to heal to the new shape.

Relax

Even if you are experiencing discomfort and pain, it is important to relax. Spend most of your time in bed and avoid sudden movement.

Go for Short Walks

In addition to relaxation, it is important to take short walks many times in a day to reduce the risk of blood clots. However, avoid lifting heavy objects including your kids and pet.

No Exercise

Before complete recovery, you should refrain from doing any physical activity for a couple of weeks. You need to wait for six weeks minimum before resuming your exercises.

Sleep on the Back

Your chest will be sensitive after surgery. You should avoid putting pressure on your chest. Instead of resting on your stomach, try to sleep on your back.

Make a Pillow Nest

If you find it hard to sleep on your back, create a pillow nest with two to three pillows. It will make you a little comfortable. Also, it will minimize the swelling and pain by improving blood circulation.

Avoid Smoking & Sun Exposure

You need to avoid smoking a few weeks before the surgery and two weeks after surgery. Smoking will reduce your blood flow and that will slow down your healing. You should protect your scars from the sun. Sun will delay fading.

Limit Travel

You should not travel to your long-distant relatives during the recovery period. Make sure that you are easily accessible to your doctor to deal with an emergency.

Avoid Hot Showers and Ice Packs

You should always avoid using ice pain to reduce pain. An ice pack will decrease the blood flow. If required, you can apply a cold compress. Also, you need to avoid hot showers in the first several weeks. The hot shower will worsen your swelling and might make your chest more sensitive.

Take Sponge Bath

A sponge bath is recommended for the first few days. For washing your head, you can take the help of others. Do not try to lift your arms.

Eat Right

Eat vitamin rich foods such as eggs, leafy greens, and yogurt and avoid extra salt.

Be Particular About Medication

Take all the prescribed medications on time and do not take any other medication without consulting your doctor.

Although a breast lift is a common plastic surgery procedure, it is important that you need to be very careful during breast lift recovery time. Contact your surgeon immediately if you notice bleeding, discharge, or increased bruising.
