Breezy Summer Styling

Summer can be crazy busy, high temps and humidity can make us dread having to heat style our hair. Skip the heat of the blowdry and try styles that work on damp hair.

A great one to try, even for beginners, is the double bun. Run a nickel size amount of Kevin Murphy Smooth.Again through towel dried hair. Split hair into 2 sections, one in the crown and one in the nape. Smooth the top section back, twist and pin into a bun. Comb the section in the nape up to meet the top bun and twist and pin into a second bun directly below the top bun. You can leave a few tendrils down around the face for softness.

Another chic, easy style on damp hair is the fishtail pony. Spray Kevin Murphy Shimmer.Shine spray through toweldried hair. Comb hair into a medium to high ponytail. Split your ponytail in two and fishtail braid to the end. Secure with a clear elastic and use your fingers to gently loosen the braid to make it appear fuller.

For a great messy bun, take hair that is 70% dry or second day hair, run Kevin Murphy Smooth.Again Styling Cream through the lengths. Secure in a high ponytail. If your hair is fine, split the ponytail in two. For thick hair, split in three sections. Loosely braid all sections. Pin one braid out of the way. Take the end of the other braid and pinch a tiny peice of hair (about 10 hairs). Pull on the strand to scrunch up the braid. Wrap and pin loosely to start the bun shape. Repeat for the other braid(s) and check the balance in the mirror.

Take the heat out of summer with these easy damp hairstlyes and keep your cool!
