Merry and Bright

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is here and we have your back with easy ways to take your hair from work day to par-tay! Holiday hair is embodying simple elegance with a few key trends that make being eye-catching child's play.

There are as many variations on this classic as there are on Jingle Bells: loose side chignons, sleek buns with a deep side part, there is even one that looks like a bow.

Braids have been an instagram obsession all year and the holidays are no exception. They are being used as the accent piece in casual upstyles and as the main event on long, full hair.

Half-up and Sideswept

Hair in the crown is being back combed for lift and then pinned or braided just below the crown. The rest of the hair is formed into loose waves. r the sideswept look, hair is set with a curling iron, combed to one side and secured at the nape with bobby pins to help it stay put.

Add Garland

This is a great time of year to invest in decorative headbands, combs, bobby pins, and barrettes with a high level of glam or with a soft, floral feel, such as holly, mistletoe, or flowers in white, cream, gold, silver or wine hues. Another option is to sprinkle a little glitter into your finished style and mist it with hairspray to set it.

So if the thought of the holidays are causing mild panic attacks, have no fear! Salon deZEN is offering holiday hair sessions to help you breeze through the holidays with the flair of a 1930s starlet. Follow this link for inspiration.
