It's day 12 of the renovation. They are doing a lot of finishing touches. Stone gets measured on Monday. Then we wait 2-3 weeks for counters and island top to be cut and finished. Then all of the final touches take place such as the backsplash. By May, we should be back in business. Hurrah! Dining out with all my food intolerances is the devil.
I've been reading Gingerbread by Helen Oyeyemi. It's a slight departure from what I usually read. So so good. A few good books come out later this month. I'm looking forward to reading Trust Exercise and Drawing Home.
I'm not planning many spring fashion buys. I'll shop in my closet. I plan to do a lot of denim with white cotton blouses with lace à la Sézane like the one below. I'll pair it with my fancy bags. I have a lot of great things but don't use them. I plan to shift that: Marie Kondo would be proud.
I've streamlined my makeup and skincare routines. When Sephora has its April Rouge sale, I'll restock on Farmacy Honeymoon Potion. I might buy another Kosas lipstick in a red since I love the formula. But that's about it. The kitchen has absorbed all the money and, when it's restocked, we have the master bath and yard to tackle.
I've continued to step away from the hair dye. At some point I need some sort of style. Ombre Sea Witch isn't the look I'm going for, but I can't get myself to cut it quite yet. I'm very happy I don't have exposure to dye anymore. And my hair has less grey than I thought it would be, given the crazy I've lived through. It will get there eventually I suppose.
As I'm stuck in my office 24/7, I've been rereading some of my coffee table books. Loving Tim Walker's Pictures and Claiborne Swanson Frank's Mother and Child in particular. So good. I need to find a better way to display them.
What are your plans for the weekend. We have a fleet of errands and want to tidy up the yard. Hope you have warm weather and fun plans.
