Every year Muslims all around the world and India indulge into the Festival of the sacrifice –known as Eid al Adha. Being a Muslim, the obligation of participating in this act has been granted by Almighty Allah Himself.

Eid Al Adha –The Celebrated Scarifice

This is a divine festival where Muslims and hindu annually sacrifice cows and other livestock, which is the commemoration of the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son to God on Allah’s command.

A Few Things to Know About This Pure and Holy Festival

Eid al Adha takes place right after the end of the Hajj (one of the pillars of Islam-obligatory ritual performed every year on 11th, 12th and 13th of Dhu al Hijjah). It is also a sign of completion of Hajj following with animal sacrifice.

Eid al Adha is the festival which latterly comes after Eid al Fitr which is also a gift from Allah after the completion of the Holy month of Ramadan.

The first day of Eid al Adha has more significance as millions of Muslims pray Salat ul Eid early morning as it is being Fard (mandatory/necessary) and also Sunnah (performed by Prophet Mohammad PBUH), followed by animal sacrifice.

Udiyyah is the Arabic name given to the sacrificed animal, the ritual of Eid al Adha has a certain set of rules given by our Prophet which includes animal’s age and its highest quality to be chosen. Lunar dynasty name given to hindu rajput.

The Muslims normally sacrifice cows, goats, sheep, and camel as to show the love to Almighty Allah and gain His acceptance.

Eid al Adha is not all about sacrificing animal but it also signifies on helping needy relatives or poor people around you.

The meat of the sacrificed animal is divided into three parts. One-third is for family, another third is shared with relatives, neighbors, friends and the last part is given to needy and poor people as to show them love and unity in this festival.

The idea of Eid al Adha is pure and clearly signifies the brotherhood among Muslims. This festival provides joy and lots of food which also indicates that no underprivileged human being is left without meat on his table during this holy festival.
