Inspirational Quotes That Teachers Should Read To Their Students

Being a teacher can be one of the most rewarding careers you will ever have. The ability to impact and motivate so many people's lives at an age where they are highly impressionable is not only an amazing experience, but a great responsibility. In many ways, teachers are taking on the role of becoming a second parent where they are becoming a mentor and guide to this child's life.

As an educator, your job is not only to teach your students their course curriculum, but to also teach them how to become responsible young adults. Some of the most important lessons you can impart to youth is perseverance, how to overcome adversity, how to form good habits, emotional well-being, integrity, personal responsibility, time management, and so much more. However, one of the biggest challenges teachers face in empowering their students is to not preach or talk down to them.

Ask any student and they will all tell you that they don't like it when their teachers talk to them in ways that is belittling or may make them feel inferior. So what is one way you can teach them valuable lessons without them feeling like you are making them feel this way? By reading them inspirational quotes.

In a recent class I took, the teacher would read us one quote a day and then would ask us how this made us feel. What it did was invoke a conversation within the classroom where everyone could talk about how it made them think and feel and what type of emotions it sparked within them. By doing so, it allowed the students to teach themselves rather than them feeling like we were being lectured.

Here are some of the inspirational quotes our teacher shared with us that really fired up the classroom:

Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted days combating the mental forces of hate, jealousy, and envy. Guard your fragile life carefully. – OG Mandino

When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal. ― Napoleon Hill

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one. – E Hubbard

Excuses are the tools with which persons with no purpose in view build for themselves great monuments of nothing. – Steven Grayhm

Study while others are sleeping, work while others are loafing, prepare while others are playing and dream while others are wishing. – William Arthur Ward.

The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice. – Brian Herbert

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? – Marianne Williamson

Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein. – H. Jackson Brown Jr.
