It's that time of year, where everyone in the Booktube community are sharing their favorite and least reads. Of course I've succumbed to peer pressure and will be participating in part. I'm only sharing my favorites; one, because I think it's more important to spend my time hyping up books I loved, and two, I don't want to relive books I didn't enjoy.

With that said, 2018 was a great reading year!!!! Not only did I hit my goodreads reading goal with a week to spare, I've found my stride on what I want my content to be, and I've also met AMAZING book friends across the world. 2018 has been great for reading and I can't wait for 2019. Yay! But, you're here for my favorites of 2018, well here it is.
As you'll see from the categories ROMANCE killed it. That's right friends, romance is queen and I'm not even ashamed to say it. This genre was pumping out bangers and I'm all the way here for it. Not only was the storytelling compelling, I found new authors and new to me authors.
Alyssa Cole is bae, she can do no wrong in my eyes. You have to pick up the Reluctant Royals series. I found a couple of self published authors who I gave a chance and loved their work ,so I encourage you to check out Erica Buddington's novella Boroughs Apart and Mayum Cruz's book 1, It's Just Not Semantics. Finally, Jasmine Guillory's first book <3 Wedding Date was a favorite for everyone because she's just that good. I'm saving The Proposal for a weekend sister's trip.
The next category was Nonfiction. Who would have thought? Well clearly me. My top read of the year was Rage Becomes Her by Sorarya Chemaly. Ya'll, it's the truth and I'm so thankful I haven't been arrested yet. I will just say, this book has lit a fire in my belly.

Read it and let's talk :)
The next week, I will be updating my reviews on all the books so you can check out my thoughts on goodreads. However, I would love to talk your ear off about any of these gems. They were all good for very different reasons.
Lastly, I hit the 100 followers mark on both Twitter and Instagram. This milestone is huge for me. The fact that people want to listen to my recommendations/feedback is wild, but it warms my heart. I've been at this hobby for 2 years and to see this type growth is awesome. There are tons of content creators who are doing really cool things, somehow I've found a way to carve out a little community which says something about the world of readers. We find each other wherever we are. So not only did I have a great reading year, I also made a milestone. Celebration time.
What to expect moving forward? Well, the short answer is consistency. So, if you want to follow me on any of my social media accounts I've made it easy for you!
