Menards a year ago

Menards, the home improvement monster found disregarding government work laws two weeks back, has reported that it's not building an Ohio store as arranged. The reason: President Barack Obama.

"We are a family claimed www tm menards com business and with the Obama Administration frightening the dickens out of all privately-run companies in the U.S.A at present and with no assurance if the following organization will be any better, we have chosen not to hazard extension until things are increasingly settled," Menards representative Jessie O'Mara told the New Philadelphia Times-Reporter in an email.

The Eau Claire-based chain's proprietor, John Menard, is seriously hostile to association.

Seth Goldstein of the Office and Professional Employees International association Local 153 in New York recorded eight protests with the National Labor Relations Board against www tm menards com, five of which were found to have merit. He sees an association between the NLRB choice and the choice to delay the New Philadelphia store.

"I don't believe it's an occurrence that inside days of the board discovering merit on various infringement that John Menard has now concluded that he's not content with the Obama organization," Goldstein said in a meeting last Thursday.

Goldstein recorded the grumblings after a story in The Progressive last December incorporated a picture of a statement in Menards' director understanding that cuts an administrator's compensation by 60 percent if a store unionizes. Other work law infringement, he stated, could require Menards to produce new concurrences with every one of the 45,000 of its representatives. a

The choice to defer building the store, which should bring 120 new employments, was a failure to city authorities, who had conceded Menards a 10-year, 50-percent genuine property charge decrease.
