Little Black Bikini

It’s Swim Week here on Sometimes Glam – hooray!
I know some of you are still covered in snow, so I apologize for the next few days of sunshine and poolside images. I’m hoping this will get you excited for warmer days that are (hopefully) just around the corner.

The bikini used to be a swim style reserved for our straight sized sisters. Thankfully, in the past few years, options have been popping up everywhere giving us plus sized ladies the opportunity to wear more than a boring one-piece*. You can find a fantastic assortment at Torrid, Forever 21, Swimsuits for All, City Chic… the list goes on. Can I get an AMEN for options?! YES!

I knew while packing my suitcase for my LA trip that the bulk of the space would be dedicated to swimwear. This plus size bikini is fantastic because more than anything, it’s daring. Totally in your face. You put it on and all of a sudden, your eyebrow arches as you look at yourself in the mirror. You reflection gives you an approving nod.
Girl, you look goooooddddd in this.
And who doesn’t want to wear a swimsuit that makes you feel that good? I definitely had a bit more of a strut as I walked around the pool that morning. Confidence poured out of my veins.

*a note about one-pieces: they aren’t always boring. When you’re shopping look for ones with fun details or prints. Poolside is not the place to be twinning with your grandmother. Get it, girl!

Fit notes on this suit: the bottoms run TTS, the tops run a bit smaller in the cups. Size up if you want a bit more coverage.
