Your favourite patterns of 2016!

LoveCrochet |

We’ve had great fun crocheting with you all year, and we thought you’d like to see some of the most popular patterns downloaded in 2016!

We have to start with the most ingenious pattern of the year! Jess Coppom of Make and Do Crew’s pattern and photo tutorial will show you how to transform a pair of flip flops into the most cosy of Cabin Boots! Jess recommends Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn for these wonderful boots – but any super chunky yarn will do!

Dutch Rabbit by Katalin Galusz

Super cute! You’ve loved Katalin Galusz’s Dutch Rabbit, and it’s easy to see why! (We also love her guinea pigs, dwawf rabbits and little wolves!) Making toys is great fun, and they’re great stash busters! This lovely chap is crocheted in Stylecraft Special DK.

Dragonscale Gloves by ZarrinHandmade

Dragonscales! Make these gorgeous gloves in a semi-tonal yarn for the full dragon effect! Zarrin Handmade suggests Fyberspates Vivacious 4ply, and we love Deep Forest (605) for a really dragonesque effect! The palm of the glove is worked in a flat stitch to enable you to hold on tight to your mulled wine!

Acer Shawl by The Crochet Project

The Acer Shawl is one of our favourite patterns from The Crochet Project, so we’re not surprised you love it too! All you need is 100g of 4ply yarn for this beauty (or more if you’d like a bigger shawl, you can keep working the stitches until it’s big enough!). Take a look at The Crochet Project’s other fantastic patterns here!

Winifred Blanket by Little Doolally

If you haven’t discovered Little Doolally’s fantastic patterns yet, you’re in for a treat! From blankets to gorgeous cushions, once you’ve filled your house you’ll still be making gifts with them! The Winifred Blanket is crocheted in Katia Merino, but your favourite DK will be fine here!

Koko the Owl by Megan Barclay

Koko is a very sweet owl indeed, and absolutely perfect to be someone’s best friend! Standing 9″ tall, and deliciously rotund, Koko is very cuddly and easy to make in a worsted/aran weight yarn, with Megan Barclay’s comprehensive photo tutorial and detailed pattern!

What have you been crocheting for Christmas? We’d love to see your pictures in our Community!
