BAKKERIJ BLANCHE GRONINGEN

The things I like most is discovering a spot you don’t expect. Like you walk into a small and quiet street and all of a sudden there’s a cool Mexican cafe full of New Yorkers eating taco’s (you know what I’m talking about if you bought The New York Guide recently). Two weeks ago I was in Groningen and was also pleasantly surprised by Bakkerij Blanche. I stepped inside this bakery (bakkerij is bakery in Dutch) and didn’t expect to find a stunning cafe in the back. With lots of plants, concrete, wooden tables and HAY chairs and a rack in the kitchen so pretty I thought it was just used in an interior magazine shoot. The kind bearded manager told me that people come here for breakfast and lunch as they are open until 5pm. They don’t do hip food, because they just want to serve delicious sandwiches, salads and cereals with superfoods. I love it already and I’m sure you will too. Add it to your list if you’re going to Groningen soon!
