Hi, everyone, it’s time for another
Color Throwdown Challenge! The lovely and talented
Jodi is our hostess this week and she has chosen colors from this very interesting piece of pottery.
I’m telling you right up front that when I saw these colors I just KNEW I’d be stumped. But, the wheels started turning and never stopped until I was done—and I LOVE this card! What a great color palette for a masculine birthday card, right?
I started with a
Whip Cream Card stock base. On more
Whip Cream card stock I spread molding paste through
Small Brick Wall Stencil and set it aside to dry. Next I cut
Bold Greenery Die-namics from
Ranger Watercolor Paper and colored them with
Peerless Watercolors and a
small waterbrush.
Next up is a piece of
Kraft card stock stamped with
Happy Birthday Background and
Black Licorice dye ink, popped up on foam. I added
Brushstroke Birthday Greetings Die-namics, cut
from
Black Licorice card stock, and finished the sentiment with
BB Birthday Bears, stamped with
Versamark on
Dill Pickle card stock, heat embossed with
white detail embossing powder, and slipped under the edge of the Kraft strip. I tied
Bold Greenery Die-namics together with
hemp cord, adhered them to the Kraft strip, and finished off with some enemel dots.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the
Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword
CTD395 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use
#ctd395 and
#colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented June Guest,
Kara Vrabel!
