Global Design Project #GDP022 Sketch Challenge

We have a sketch challenge this week over at the Global Design Project challenge blog.

I finally got the chance to sit down and play with the new photopolymer stamp set, Picture Perfect (#140520). The Artisan Design Team received this set in our first box of goodies from Stampin' Up! I think I would have bought it on my own though, because not only does it include this beautiful 3-layer flower, it has so many wonderful sentiments. I tried to use this stamp set once before, but I just couldn't get inspired. Some of the images, like this flower, require a little bit of thought before you begin. You need to use three different ink colors to reach the full potential of some of the images. I also found a stamp positioner very useful with this flower. I used Daffodil Delight for the base, then Crushed Curry, and finally Delightful Dijon for the darkest areas. I only used two colors on the leaves...Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.

It is easy to see where this set gets is name, because it almost looks like a photograph once you finish stamping all three layers. I fussy cut all the flowers and leaves and that made them appear even more realistic.

The black background layer is from the Pretty Petals DSP Paper Stack and the Hello Honey strip is from the Sale-A-Bration Wildflower Fields DSP. I adore the black and yellow color combination. This card base is 4" wide x 5.5" tall. I wanted to give a little extra room for the flowers and leaves to hang off the edge and still be able to fit inside a standard envelope.

I added some twine, a double layer of doilies and some leaves from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies (#140619). Don't you just love this sentiment? This card could be used for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, a birthday, or even a thank you card.

Be sure to visit the Global Design Project challenge blog and see all the amazing projects created by our talented design team.

I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR STAMPIN' UP! DEMONSTRATOR

If you are in the United States and need a demonstrator, you can order your supplies in my online store here. Thanks for looking!
