Five for Friday {Linky Party.. August 14th}

Five for Friday is a weekly teacher linky party where you post five random things from today or this past week and on your blog. Then, you come back and link your blog post up at the bottom of this post in the linky tool.Grab the button above and link back to this post on your blog.

A few weeks before school started I had this idea to make this rainbow paper cloud deal. I found a piece of styrofoam about 3 feet long at Walmart and I used around 600 pins to attach an assortment of cardstock and pipe cleaners on it. I don’t know how long it will last but it has been on my hall bulletin board outside my classroom door for two weeks now and it still looks like it did the day I put it up.

I had a hard time figuring out what to do for my door that would match. I knew I wanted it simple and with a lot of colors. Then, I thought about a matching wreath made out of cardstock and pipe cleaners. It is made with a round wreath shaped piece of Styrofoam that I bought at the Dollar Tree!!

If you need some labels these are perfect and they are FREE!!! The rainbow colors make my heart happy!

Go download them.. you can thank me later!

The first bit of work we did on the first day of first grade!

This printable is included in my Back to School Unit.

We also did these fun little First Grade Coloring Sheets. You can download these here!

Here are some other bulletin board areas in my room.

This is my calendar board.

I bought the frog posters back in the summer as an option to put on my hall board and door for back to school. But, changed my mind and put them in random places around the room. I change these decorations out with our themes or holidays. But, the frogs are a perfect fit for now. They will probably make another appearance this spring during my frog theme.

That is my class list on the orange paper. Our special class schedule usually goes in that spot but when I finished the board before school started I was unsure of my schedule. We are practicing reading each other’s names so this was a perfect addition for now.

I bought the black calendar pocket chart and sang praises to God for black AND no more taping my calendar dates each day.

The calendar dates are a free download from my store. You can find free ones for each month and they fit PERFECT in this pocket chart!

The yesterday/today/tomorrow and date posters I made with black construction paper, white cardstock and sentence strip. I put the stars beside each one so I can reference which one I am talking about. I can say.. “Beside the yellow star” or “Beside the red star”.

The helper and the number of days we have been in school are just printed on white cardstock trimmed a bit and mounted on scrapbooking paper.

The pompoms are recycled from my hall bulletin board last school year.

The bulletin board on the left is mostly used for student work or for anchor charts/theme posters through out the year. But, I didn’t necessarily want it blank for the beginning of the year.

The bunting/banner is hand cut triangles from construction paper strung together with brown cord.

The pompoms are more of the ones I recycled from my hall bulletin board last year.

The poster in the middle is one I made several years ago. The letters are made from scrapbooking paper and mounted on black posterboard.

The Hello board is where I hang class pictures and will be full soon.

The Hello sign is from a really old bulletin board set that had other pieces. I thought it was one of the kid drawn sets from Carson Dellosa but I either it is discontinued or it is something else.

Enjoy your weekend! Week 2 for me starts Monday!
