Manlul 71: Magic light in Cadaqués

One of my favourite places in the world is the town of Cadaqués, in the Cap de Creus. As a teenager, I spent three years living in that area and, even though I did not appreciate those years much at the time, I now realize how special this village in the north Catalonia is. The Alt Empordà is a very special county where many artists decided to settle and spent several years of their lives. It might be the light, the air, the landscape .. there is something truly engaging that makes you feel in peace. It’s a feeling I don´t really know how to describe but it´s that “something” you feel in other places like Ibiza, Bali… you just feel it. I guess that’s why Salvador Dalí decided to live and create many of his most famous works there. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular and sailing and swimming in that coast is a unique experience. At night you can can go out for drinks and find a very colorful, diverse and fun atmosphere. In the pictures Im wearing a Mango Man shirt, Lacoste espadrilles and a Calvin Klein watch. The hat is from Raceu.

Cuando era adolescente pasé tres años viviendo allí y aunque en esa época no supe apreciarlo tanto, años después me di cuenta de lo especial que era ese lugar al norte de Girona. El alto Empordà es una zona muy única donde muchos artistas decidieron instalarse para vivir. No sé si es la luz, el aire, los paisajes… pero hay algo que te atrapa y te hace sentir en calma. Es una sensación que no sé describir rmuy bien pero es ese algo que sientes en otros lugares como Ibiza, Bali, Las Alpujarras… simplemente lo sientes. Supongo que por algo Salvador Dalí decidió vivir allí y crear muchas de sus obras más famosas. Los atardeceres y amaneceres son espectaculares y salir a dar un paseo en barco por sus calas y rocas es una experiencia única. Por la noche se puede tomar algo y hay un ambiente muy variopinto y divertido. Para despedir el año fuimos unos cuantos amigos y fue una noche que no olvidaré nunca. En las fotos llevo camisa de Mango Man, alpargatas de Lacoste y reloj de Calvin Klein. El sombrero es de Raceu. Fins aviat Cadaqués!
