A Day in the Life of the Natural Mum

Kids are such precious and vulnerable little things and when my daughter was born, all I wanted to do was protect and nurture her. This, along with my passion for the ocean and nature, has been my motivation for living a more sustainable life. I have to say I’ve found it difficult to find products for my daughter, as well as myself that are made from natural and sustainable materials. I’ve done the research and here’s my guide to living sustainably with children.

Mornings at the beach.

1. Towels

You can’t go past Aegean Loom for organic, hand loomed beach towels for the adults. These towels are made from all natural materials such as GOTS certified organic cotton, linen, bamboo and silk. All of the fibres are Turkish and the weaving is all done in Turkey. These towels are huge, luxurious and have beautiful texture – perfect for a morning at the beach.

3. Floor pillows

Weave and Willow floor cushions are hand crafted and made from GOTS certified organic cotton and hemp blends, as well as some hemp and yak wool blended panels. Most of the designs are hand screen printed and all designs use non-toxic ink. The fibre in the cushion insert is derived from 100% post consumer water bottles, saving them from landfill. They are perfect for a reading corner or just lounging about on the floor in the lounge room.
