Third Trimester Pregnancy Favorites

As I approach the end of my pregnancy, I’m all about comfort both mentally and physically. Here are a few things that have helped get me through the final stretch of these 40 weeks!

1. Mama Mio Skincare is one of my favorite pregnancy finds! When I got into my third trimester and started to feel (and look) like I was uncomfortable I noticed my skin looking a bit dull and I constantly looked tired. I decided to switch up my skincare and Mama Mio delivered! I love the face wash, face cream and stretch mark cream and would recommend them all. I honestly look forward to washing my face every day and it’s such a nice treat since the smell of the cleanser is a pregnant lady’s best friend. I even ordered more face products to continue to use after pregnancy, I love them so much!

2. Dr. Teal’s Epson Salts have been so good for my aching hips, back and legs. I have gone through three bags of these in the past two weeks and I stocked up again last night. I’m not about to give up my daily bath and I’m hoping I can still fit in a 5-15 minute bath every day when the baby arrives as my “me time.”

3. Prenatal Massage has been so necessary the past several weeks. I lucked out that my usual therapist that I’ve been going to since before my neck surgery also specializes in prenatal and I went once a month my entire pregnancy. This month I booked two sessions and I’m so thankful I did- I was so sore on Tuesday before I went in but left feeling like I could make it through the next two weeks!

4. Working from Home has been another saving grace these past few weeks. I was feeling awesome up until about week 34 and since then I’ve been absolutely exhausted! My plan is to work up until I go into labor and working from home every other day has been such a huge help. Starting last week I am working from home two days per week and next week I’ll probably work from home after a few huge presentations on Tuesday. (let’s hope I make it through those so I can check out feeling accomplished!)

5. Eating What I Want has literally been the best thing about pregnancy! As someone who dieted her whole life and then turned to intuitive eating, pregnancy has been such an awesome lesson for listening to my body on how to eat. It’s almost ridiculous how much job food brings me these days and I love it! It’s been fun to eat all of the things that were on my “no list” for so long- bagels, pasta, ice cream, desserts and really anything that sounds good at the moment. Not once have I gone completely overboard which has been pretty eye opening.

6. Freezer Meals have been my very last task on my baby prepping list and I’ve had fun with it. If you read this blog regularly you know I love my meal planning and organization so this has been a fun challenge. When all is said and done, I should have a month’s worth of food and it’s a huge comfort to know that my focus can be on adjusting to life with a newborn while the rest of our household runs seamlessly.

Last but not least my attitude is what has kept me going the last few weeks. I’m very focused in the moment and trying to enjoy my pre-baby life as much as possible. I’m hoping this weekend for lots of relaxation, maybe one more day night and lots of sleep!

Fellow pregnant friends or moms- how did you get through the third trimester? Everyone else, how do you treat yourself on a regular basis?
