neutral ground.

country road.

something i’ve learned from having my own garden (at long last!) is that pairing neutrals with nature really works. there’s something very pretty about how a natural canvas of earthy tones, black and white that really allows the greenery and plant life to shine. my banana palms against my black house for instance, really pop. and, this color palette looks really sophisticated, simple and very very zen. pair woven rattan or bamboo chairs or a chaise, sisal rugs, or perhaps a black Acapulco chair with cushion covers and throw pillows made in natural washable linens or a canvas sunbrella fabric and you’ve got a really great, but practical look. pale concrete tables and patios look lovely with this palette too. add a few drought-tolerant cacti, succulents or native plants and you are patio ready for summer!
