I’ve had a lot of fun updating this page. It was first posted in 2008 and a lot of what was new and stylish then, became outdated over the years. In addition, my own taste has changed over the years, and has become a lot less fussy. So, if you’re looking for a clean and modern aesthetic, you’ll find it here.
Home sewing projects allow you to coordinate your entire decor for just the cost of a yard or two of fabric.
For example, my bathroom in my house in Baltimore had pink, white and black tiles. I searched everywhere for a matching window shade but was unsuccessful. One day, in a burst of genius, I decided to make my own. I used a very retro black and white cotton fabric. The shade came out lovely and I enjoyed compliments from everyone who saw it. Best of all, it only cost about $8.00 and took less than an 1 1/2 hours.
