How to design a lush fall wedding at an indoor venue
Sure, we love us a good outdoor wedding in the fall, but regions with all those pretty autumn blooms? Not exactly predictable when it comes to wedding day weather. (Especially when planning a year in advance!) But an indoor wedding with all the warmth and beauty of this magical season—now *that’s* impressive. This editorial coming to us from Monique Serra Photography and Mae & Co Creative at Oregon’s Old Schoolhouse manages to do just that, beginning with a jaw-dropping floral ceremony…
Floral designer Amy of Brier Ivy says, Fluffy pampas grass, hanging amaranthus along with the cloud like babies breath gave so much detail creating a lush feel. Ceremony backdrops are one of the best ways to bring the outdoors in through unique and organic shapes or a hanging piece.
Tip: Organic, flowing florals and a blend of colors and textures gives the design a more wild, natural feel to contrast the indoor venue.
The team was also inspired by the role the bridesmaids play in the design of an intimate wedding or even an elopement. The mismatched dresses brought more earthy fall tones to the historic space.
Monique Serra Photography explains, When planning my One Day Workshop, I knew that I wanted to offer my attendees something unique. Our workshop was more than we could’ve hoped for. In addition to the styled elopement, we had over five hours of education, live editing, shooting, drinking cider, and networking with fellow creatives. There were tears, “ah ha” moments, and friendships formed.
And while you may say I Do indoors, it’s always nice to have a venue like The Old Schoolhouse with gorgeous surroundings.
