Anyone else so looking forward to seeing more and more moody weddings pop up on this here blog as the seasons change? This bridal shoot inspired by The Secret Garden comes with its own dramatic, and srsly beautiful, twist: Instead of focusing on a typical garden wedding, Violet Short Photography and Wildwood Floral Co. decided to bring the garden inside. Such a smart idea, especially with a venue like The Allison Mansion. See why!
Violet says, Myself and our florist Ashley of Wildwood Floral Co. created the concept based on our love for the 1993 movie The Secret Garden. Both of us grew up watching this masterfully filmed classic and absolutely love all the details throughout the movie including overgrown, abandoned rooms, medieval tapestries, and delicate garments.
They also chose this enchanting wedding gown from Nancy’s Bridal that stood out against the bold backdrops.
One smaller detail that was incorporated throughout the shoot included an antique little elephant mimicking the sentimental object Mary held dearly throughout the movie. And days before shooting, a beautiful pearl ring was gifted to our florist Ashley from her husband knowing she would want to include it in the photoshoot. There were so many small details and moments that made this day extra special.
And did we mention there were two other gorgeous gowns to inspire? Really stunning along with Ashley McMullen‘s long hairstyles and make up from Reneu Beauty.
Time to get pinning, right? Thanks to Violet and the talented team below for inspiring us on this Friday!
