A DIY Valentine's Treat: Fruit & Nutella Swedish Pancake

Happy Belated Valentine’s, you beautiful! Hope you had a day filled with roses, hugs, kisses, candies, chocolate and sweets too!

I am a big believer of love but not so much a gamer of spending double the money on Valentine’s Day on flowers, chocolates and fine dining. My practical mind is too stubborn to disregard the fact that businesses jag up prices on this day so they could make more money.

So no flower, no chocolate, and no wine and dine for me.

Homemade with love is more like my style.

Speaking of which, one year, W baked customized heart-shaped cookies for me. As I walked into his house (we aren’t living together and not married at that time), he looked like he bathed in a tub of flour with flour all over his face and clothes and the kitchen was a war zone. He spent a few hour making 8 cookies to say “I <3 Beanie”. It was because he hand-drew and cut every heart shape of those cookies (due to the fact that he didn’t know there’s cookie cutter). I was and still am touched by his effort. To these days, these cookies were the most adorable and sweetest Valentine’s present I’ve ever received.

This year’s Valentine’s celebration was something as simple but sweet and lovely as a Swedish pancake fancied with strawberries and mangoes for brunch.

Romantic does not need to break the bank but require a little thinking outside of the box, a little effort and lots of love.

How did you spend the lovely Valentine’s Day? Or making it up with a big plan for the weekend? Let me know in the comments section.
