YSL Volupte Tint In Oil

Lip Oils are kinda the new thing on the beauty radar. I’m pretty happy with this too. I have talked before about my love of oils – cleansing, hydrating, body, hair…. SO many oil options and all of them fabulous for the beauty side of things. Well, I say all of them – I haven’t tried them all. What I mean is that I love an oil for all purposes. The latest incarnation of oils is in the colour make-up world where they pull together colour and care in a lovely little hybrid. One of the first on the blog being these YSL Volupte Tint In Oil shades that are rather gorgeous…

Each of the YSL Lip Oils has the lip-shaped applicator that both looks cute and actually works pretty well to apply the product too (which I’m sure was kinda the point…). The packaging is typically glossy glam YSL – with silver tube rather than their signature gold. Silver does tend to be the colour YSL goes for with lighter/sheer formulas for the lip side of things. Each tube has a different touch of colour on the branded band around the middle to indicate the shade of the product inside.

Going from left to right on each photo we have: Cherry My Cherie, Rose You and Oh My Gold.

Cherie My Cherie is the strongest colour of the bunch with a sheer hot pink tint to it. Rose You is a paler pink shade and looks a little more sheer. Oh My Gold is a peachy shade with a golden sheen to it. All very pretty and wearable shades.

Tint wise, they really are sheer. The texture is like quite a thick oil – not runny liquid like you might expect. It feels really softening on the lips and hydrating. It’s a perfect solution if you want something subtle but aren’t a fan of gloss. If you have dry lips – you basically need this in your life.

Because the colour is so sheer it really is only the Cherry My Cherie one that truly adds colour to the lips – the others really are just a wash. I really like Cherie My Cherie but all of these would be wearable day to day. I REALLY like these – it’s nice to find something in the colder months that’s lovely and light, sheer but wonderfully hydrating. Gorgeous stuff.

I also spied the YSL Spring Collection on counter the other day – heads up, it’s a beaut.

The YSL Volupte Tint In Oil * shades (eight of them) launch on the 28th January and I reckon these will be really popular. Will be £23.50
