Pantone 2015 Color of the Year: Marsala makeup products

I don't know about you but I'm pretty excited that the 2015 Color of the Year is marsala...a gorgeous and sophisticated earthy red-brown. It's one of those colors that you can be neutral or bold with and I love that. Plus marsala is a gorgeous color for makeup! Marsala lips, eyes, and cheeks...get ready.

Lips
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rapture is the epitome of the marsala color...right on point. Not deeper. Not more subtle. It IS marsala. Plus who doesn't love the Urban Decay lipsticks? Pair is with their 24/7 lipliner in Manic and you'll be good to go for 2015.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in On The Catwalk is yet another more literal marsala lipcolor. It's an earthy brownish wine that applies beautifully and has a fairly good staying power. I tend to use this lipstick with a liptoned liner to keep the color true, or with a red lipliner (Urban Decay 24/7 lipliner in 69 is THE best) to make it a bit more bold and more red-toned.

A bolder approach to marsala lips is Milani Power Lipgloss Stain in Cabaret Blend. It's a gorgeous deep wine lipstain with a glossy finish. When the gloss wears off, the marsala-colored stain remains. And if you haven't tried Milani lip products, you seriously need to.

MAC lipstick in Party Line is also a more bold interpretation of the 2015 Color of the Year. It's a lovely, creamy wine colored Cremesheen lipstick. Since it not matte, it's not super bold but you can definitely up the boldness with a lipliner like MAC Vino (line and fill...always line and fill).

Eyes
MAC eyeshadows...*sigh* MAC has so many eyeshadows that work with 2015's Color of the Year but these are just a few off the top of my head that I have myself. Folie (Satin) IS marsala...almost. It's a bit more brown but it's pretty close. Cranberry eyeshadow (Frost) is a bit more pink-toned but it's also nearly exact to what marsala looks like. Then there's Sketch (Velvet)...one of my favorite MAC eyeshadows ever in the history of since I started with MAC. It's a deep wine color...totally perfect for this color story. You can wear these colors solo or pair them together for a gorgeous marsala smokey eye.

NYX Slide-on Eye Pencil in Jewel is gorgeous. If you remember the discontinued but ever-so-beautiful Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in 1999, NYX Jewel is a dead ringer for it. It's a red wine eyeliner with a touch of sparkle to it. Or hey, if you have 1999, rock it!

Today I was at my favorite Ulta ever (in Oro Valley, AZ...if you go to any other Ulta in Tucson you're wrong). Anyway...ck One eyeshadow in Muse is perfect for 2015! First of all, ck One products are definitely worth a try. They're priced well and just awesome in quality and performace. Muse eyeshadow is this beautiful reddish brown wine with a bit of shimmer to it. Such a luxurious formula too.

Cheeks
So guess what...I've never tried NARS blush *gasp* But in browsing online for marsala colored blushes I came across one I just had to include...NARS blush in Seduction. It's the perfect wine colored blush. A little red. A little brown. A little plum.

Benefit Rocketeaur, which I actually own, is still in my top favorite blushes. It's a gorgeous pink-toned wine color with a touch of gold to it. It has a luminescent finish so it gives a beautiful glow too.
