made: huntress cowl
Hi everyone! :)
Thanks to everyone who congratulated me on my engagement last week! I’m super stoked as you can imagine :) We’re getting married some time next year, and it will be boho and awesome and in a forest – and there will come a comprehensive blog post!
But first things first. I finished my huntress cowl that I told you about last week! :) I got my friend Lotte to model it for me again (you might recognise her from when she modeled the Verona shrug for me). Originally I wanted to shoot this in the woods, but when I woke up and saw that it was extremely foggy outside, I knew *just* the place to go to; so instead of a forest we decided to go for an urban jungle!
Honestly, how awesome is that fog? It was absolutely freezing when I shot this; you can clearly see the bridge is frozen, as well as extremely slippery! Luckily we managed to stay mostly upright while we were on the bridge ;)
This cowl is my new favourite winter accessory. It’s new, different, and absolutely stunning! Not to mention, very cozy and warm – essential properties for *any* winter accessory if you ask me.
I used a pre-existing pattern for this: the amazing Huntress Cowl pattern by Two of Wands! (keep on reading for your chance to win a copy!)
I made it with Scheepjes Stonewashed XL yarn. I used around 8 skeins to make this, and I used the yarn double stranded with a 10mm hook. There is also a tiny piece of knitting in there – it’s the triangle patch on the right side that forms the arm hole. (I’ve talked about it a bit more in my WIP post right here)

Hook size: 10mm crochet hook, 15mm knitting needles
Time it took to complete: About 1 day/2 evenings.
Happiness level: Over the moon!!!
The construction of this cowl is done very cleverly. Even though it looks like quite a big project to finish, it’s done in no time! Basically, you make a couple of strips of fabric, which you then attach in a certain way to form the cowl.
It really is quite a genius pattern, and so I am very pleased to tell you that you can win a copy of the pattern! :) Alexi from Two of Wands was kind enough to give away 3 copies of the pattern!
