Chillin’ like Marilyn

I’ve been indoors a whole lot these days, and you can really tell with these consecutive indoor, lounging-on-the-chair outfit shots! Not to mention the pale skin! Eek.

I’m collaborating with Boohoo for a vintage #TBT (throwback Thursday) style challenge where I pick a style icon from the past to pattern off of. I picked Marilyn Monroe and these sweet trousers.

I don’t often wear patterned pants, because I’ve always been a solid and dark bottoms girl ever since puberty gave me a little bit more oomph down there! I did find these awesome Tron-grid tapered trousers from Boohoo that were black, so I thought I’d try them out. Marilyn Monroe was seen to have worn many casual outfits with patterned pants and a solid color top. A quick Google image search will tell you that!

Contrary to what you might think based on red carpet images, Marilyn wore a lot of pants and baggy sweaters. She seemed to like feeling pretty and girly in comfortable, laid back clothing. There’s nothing more attractive than confidence and a genuine smile (which I can’t do successfully on camera!)

The pants I am wearing are woven and well made in England. For £15.00, you can’t beat that!
