Review and Giveaway | Firmoo Glasses

Do you remember the show Arli$$? To be honest, I barely do. The two things that stick out to me about the show is the bevy of real athletes they managed to con into guest starring and the envy I felt for Sandra Oh’s glasses collection. I swear, she had a different pair for every outfit, and that’s what I planned on doing when I grew up.

Then I became what some people refer to as “an adult” and realized how expensive glasses are even when you have insurance. I’d rather spend my hard-earned cash on a nice pair of shoes or new bag instead of an optical wardrobe.

That’s why I was so excited to try out Firmoo.com – cute glasses with a prescription and tiny price tag? I’m in – and you have a chance to win $15 towards your Firmoo purchase, too! Considering most of the frames are under $40, I feel like that’s a pretty good deal.

(Full disclosure: I did receive a complimentary pair of glasses in exchange for reviewing the site. You know me though, I’d only tell you my honest feelings about Firmoo because my mama raised me right. Also, I have a need for strangers on the Internet to love me.)

1 $36 | 2 $23 | 3 $36 | 4 (my new sunglasses!) $36 | 5 $36 | 6 $66

The ordering process on Firmoo is simple. I always ask for a copy of my prescription when I leave the optometrist’s office, but if you aren’t a weirdo like me, call your care provider’s office and ask for them to provide it. (Side note to all my hipsters out there – you do not need to use prescription lenses at all. In fact, Firmoo gives you the option of buying just frames, too.)

Once you have your prescription, just write it out exactly as your doctor gave it to you. The tricky part is trying to determine your pupillary distance (PD) number. If you’ve got a friend around that won’t creep you out with too much eye contact, I highly recommend asking for help. Otherwise, grab a mirror and a ruler!

For my first pair, I picked up purple plastic frames and added dark gray tint to the lenses (an extra $10 to your order), hoping that the sun and nice weather might soon return to Chicago. To be totally honest, mine ended up a little snug on my head, but that could be because I’m so used to wearing giant sunglasses as though I’m an Olsen twin.

To avoid having a similar issue, measure a pair of glasses you already have to help get an idea of what dimensions you like. You can also upload a picture to Firmoo to see how frames might look on your face. (Yes, I did use this option. No, I will not share that photo with you in the name of self-preservation!)

Do you want to win $15 towards any pair of glasses from the Firmoo Classic Series? Great! From Monday, March 2 until midnight Central Time on Monday, March 9, check out the Firmoo Classic Series and pick out which pair you want. You’ll earn one entry for each of the following actions:
