Everyday blush

After years of piling on the blusher I have no decided that less is probably more. I have been opting for a light dusting rather than a heavy hand and there are four blushers I reach for on a daily basis which offer a light, natural flush but don't require much thought. They are all quite similar in colour but offer the perfect hint of colour to any look whilst still being quite buildable, I do sometimes add a coral blush into the mix during the summer months but for the most part these are my go-to.

The two that have been in my collection the longest are The Balm Frat Boy blush and the Bourjois blush in Rose D'Or. Frat Boy is a slightly peach pink which still looks very neutral on the cheek, it is the most pigmented out of the bunch so I do have to be quite cautious not to over apply but it leaves a perfect healthy glow without having any shimmer.

When I am looking for a hint of shimmer I always reach for Bourjois blush in Rose D'Or. It's the perfect pink with a dusting of gold shimmer, nothing too over the top but is a nice alternative to highlight and blush. As it is baked it does have a tendency to develop a top layer, but you can easily scratch into the blush to uncover beautiful pigmentation again. As it is drugstore it's also very affordable and I've had this one for longer than I would care to disclose but it's still going strong.

During the summer I feel in love with the Clinique Plum Pop Cheek Pop, the packaging is beautiful and the colour is a pink with blue undertones and the most perfect satin finish. I love how soft this blusher is, as well as how even the colour application is. It's got the perfect amount of pigmentation so that I can use it when I am in a rush without needing too worry that I have over applied. The luminous finish is exactly what I look for in an everyday blush.

The Laura Mercier Second Skin Blush in Rose Petal is the most recent one to be added to my daily rotation. It's fairly light in pigmentation and colour but that really works with what I am trying to achieve with my blusher. It is the blusher I reach for when I am going with a statement eye or lip but still want a little something on the cheek which won't be over powering. Probably not the blusher to go for if you are darker than me or you are looking for quite a pop of colour on the cheek but perfect for no-makeup makeup and just adding a hint of colour.

I clearly love pink blushers...
