Sun’s Out, Buns Out

No matter how many times we dream that eating Magnolia cupcakes will result in a 6 pack, unfortunately that wish never seems to materialize. While it may not be sugary and sensory heaven, the next best thing is Flybarre – a new fitness class under the Flywheel umbrella that is popping up across the country and in Dubai. While there are multiple studios in Manhattan, the newly renovated Flatiron one is my go-to.

Flywheel gained popularity through it’s new approach to cycling and has recently expanded to include its own approach to barre classes. Flybarre is targeted at strengthening your muscles through repetition-based activity using lower amounts of weight. The routine focuses on toning the full body, specifically your arms, abs, glutes, and legs equating to a body that fits into our closet of bikinis.

In case you needed an added incentive, besides for yours truly, even Karlie Kloss and Olivia Palermo are taking this class to tone their svelte limbs. Lucky for us impatient gals, you only need a few sessions before you begin to see your muscles carve through the winter padding. It’s a great alternative to the hype-obsessed Flywheelers. Most instructors have extensive dance training and all of their profiles are available online for you to sift through to decide who best suits your interests. Fortunately, it’s still June giving you a strong push to get into shape and stock up on Flybarre sessions before summer kicks into full gear.

Au revoir Mags, Adios Sprinkles, Arrivederci Billy, Buh Bye Melissa… At least until winter.
