White on white on patterned. Just hiding on the backstreets, like Bruce Springsteen once said. Color blocking doesn’t always have to be too obvious, sometimes a plain white canvas can be enough to make that one piece of bright color (or in this case, the two toned pop of color of my bag) turn from being a shrug of the shoulder, to being something you’re staring at for longer. My aesthetic often keeps this in mind: you don’t need to overdo it to make it interesting. Often when I visit the contemporary art galleries on my neighbor streets in Chelsea, the works which make me stop and stare for longer are those exact ones: the simple-at-first-sight but which always includes those surprising eye popping elements where you might have not expected them to be.
