Doll Craft: How to Make Doll Sandals (With Free Pattern)!
// // //
Sandals and flipflops are a must have for Summer! Today I'm going to show you how you can make some one-of-a-kind sandals for your doll!
These are so fun and you can make them in all colors or styles! They are pretty easy too once you get the hang of it. Let's get started!
First you need some supplies....
- One piece of craft foam 22.8 cm X 30.4 cm thick (This will be used as the soles of the sandals. So you could use black like I did, or white.)
- One colored piece of regular craft foam
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Glue dots or foam glue
- Pencil
- Rhinestones or other decorations
- And the Doll Sandal Pattern!
Before we get into how to make the sandals, here is the free pattern!
Click the link or picture above to print out the pattern. And, once you have all you need, cut out the sandal pattern.
After that's done, flip the pattern over to the other side (this will make a left foot and right foot). Then trace around again.
If you'd like, put some more ribbon on the sides of the sandal to cover up any gaps or imperfections.
To add a nice final touch, place a rhinestone in the middle of the criss-cross ribbon! If you used regular glue, be sure to wait for it to dry before putting the sandals on your doll.
I love how these can be made so many ways with different colors of ribbon or foam. You could make a pair to match any outfit!
Kit loves her sandals and can't wait to wear them more! :)
I hope you have fun making some for your doll! If you do, I'd LOVE to see. Feel free to send me a picture at email@americangirlfan.com
