Loves Sweet Burden
Lately I’ve been playing a lot of basketball with the pirate princess, the one thing I’ve always wanted to instill in her is she can do anything she has the drive and dedication to but it requires practice. Taylor even put up a basketball hoop for us. It’s one of those one’s you can raise and lower, so we have it at the short height so Cao’s and 8 year olds have a chance of scoring every once in a while. It’s been a steep learning curve for me, but she seems to be having a great time and doesn’t seem to mind my best shot is the 6 foot high dunk. But with this teaching there is great responsibility and rewards must be given for good practice habits. So this weekend I am going to borrow her from her mama and drive her down to Central Florida to go see the Harlem Globetrotter’s. I have to admit, I am probably more excited than she is about this since she’s never seen them. I saw them twice somewhere around the age she is now and I fell in love, both with their antics and with their skill.
The reason I am including you in this topic of conversation is I am going to do one of my wandering away routines. I’ve been feeling a little “under the weather” of late and I hear it’s going to be sunny and in the 80’s Fahrenheit next week, so it seems as good a time as any to wander.
