03 02 TTC/B2B Tours review: Fall For Me (The Rock Gods #1) by Ann Lister

All love stories are tales of beginnings. When we talk about falling in love, we go to the beginning, to pinpoint the moment of freefall. - Meghan O'Rourke
after Black Ice's sold out performance at the Staples Center, Ryan Pierce, entertainment journalist for Music Spin, heads backstage to a private trailer for an interview with the band's lead vocalist Dagger Drummond. before the night is over, not only does Ryan have a story to write but he also discovers a secret about Dagger that could shock the entertainment industry. moreover, little did Ryan know that this encounter would spin his world off its axis and change his life in ways he never expected.
author Ann Lister's first novel in her Rock God series delves into the lives and loves of some of the players in the music business. it deals with those events in life that we usually mistake for random and insignificant but are not. it also talks about risks and choices, falling in and out of love, friendship, betrayal, forgiveness, healing and acceptance.
this fast-paced, well-written novel drew me in from the first page to the last. the characters are well fleshed out that their personalities leap out of the book's pages particularly Ryan's tendency to over analyze things - something which i can relate to a lot.
the dialogs are often emotional but without the histrionics. the intimate scenes are very sensual, passionate and detailed and some readers might feel uncomfortable reading them. i leave it to the reader then to skip those if s/he wishes to do so. however, i would like to point out the couple involved are in love and their love for each other makes everything different. i would consider their moments together, therefore, as highly erotic but definitely not pornographic.
overall, this is a book that will make you involved and invested in its storyline and in its characters. although it might make you sad in a few places, it will leave you in the end with a good feeling that stays with you long after the last page has been turned.
