This lesson is great because it gets away from the boring 6 hue color wheel that can be such a drag for both you and your students. Incorporating literature is an added bonus to drive the concept home (and what art teacher doesn’t have the book “Mouse Paint” sitting around?) Students won’t be able to resist the fun and tiny piece of cheese in the center. Punching the holes for the cheese is an excellent fine motor skill for younger students as well.
