13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge: Artwork

Press Sample Purchased by Me

Good evening! I missed two days of the 13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge last week (during Digit-al Dozen Week), but I plan on playing catch up! In the meantime, today's prompt is "artwork." I had no problem choosing the artist I was going to draw inspiration from. I chose my favorite artist, who also happens to be one of my very favorite people, my bestie!

Post continued after the jump!
This painting was done by Sheila from Pointless Cafe. If you follow her you already know she's an amazing blogger and nail artist, but she is also very talented at painting on canvas. You can see more of her artwork here. Let's have a look at her painting by itself before I show you a better pic of my attempt at re-creating it. I love how it is calming and peaceful, but also moody all at the same time.

I am pretty happy with my version, though it isn't as good as the original. And I realized as I was uploading pictures that I forgot the cute little stars! Dang it!

I did a quick and dirty gradient of the 3 Elevation Polishes listed below. Everything else I used was acrylic paint. I topped it with Wet n Wild Matte Top Coat after my regular top coat was dry.

I have some gorgeous new collections to share with you this week so I will see you soon! Don't forget to check out the other ladies below!
