Kelly Rutherford Hit Another Custody Snag

Kelly Rutherford’s excitement over winning temporary sole custody of her kids was very short lived. A new judge put the brakes on the order until a proper hearing can be held for the children’s father, Daniel Geirsch.

Kelly was set to bring her kids, Hermes and Helena, back to the U.S. but a new judge stepped in and said things had to be on hold until a hearing later this month. Her lawyer shared, “The judge simply allowed the ex to have a hearing, which nobody objected to. It is unconstitutional for Monaco to impose citizenship or formal residency status on an American citizen who does not also enjoy citizenship in Monaco, just as it would violate Monaco’s laws for this country to declare by judicial fiat that a Monaco citizen visiting this country, is suddenly an American citizen or a US resident. It simply cannot be done.”

Earlier this month it was shared that Daniel wouldn’t turn over the kids for their scheduled visit with Kelly unless she handed over their passports. We hope this mess gets straightened out very soon, for everyone’s sake!
