Moving In: Chelsea Townhome

(ABOVE) The front facade of this Chelsea townhome is so inviting and elegant. The boxwoods soften the stone and the black fencing is very glamorous! The first floor stands on ground level so there is no need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the front doors. What an entrance.

How incredible is this Chelsea, NYC townhouse? The 1840s townhouse recently went under a massive multi-millionaire dollar renovation. The home has turned out incredibly beautiful, and is currently on the market for 16.5 million. It’s being listed by Fredrik Eklund of “Million Dollar Listing New York”! I hope we’ll see it on the show at some point. What makes this home extra special is that it was recently used to host a fundraising event for President Obama. The home features 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms and boasts 5,000 sq. ft of space.

When it comes to the interiors, I’m a huge fan of mixing retro and modern pieces. I feel that in a home such as this, bringing pieces in from the 1960s-70s really make an impact. Some of the stand out pieces that I choose were the Nilfur dining chairs, Galerie Glustin sofa and Kelly Wearstler bed. Those pieces are and more are featured below. What do you think of the townhouse? Would you ‘Move In‘?

(ABOVE) When you walk into the home from the front doors, you are greeted by a very light and open reception area. On the main floor is also a kitchen and outdoor garden space.

(ABOVE) The living room is open and has views of the garden below as well as the park next door. I love the sliding glass doors that lead out onto the balcony.

(ABOVE) I’m a huge fan of white kitchens. They’re timeless and fresh. I like how this kitchen occupies roughly half the main level. In New York, a large kitchen is such a rarity.

(ABOVE) The dining room is another open, easy to design space. I love the old fireplace, what a jewel!

(ABOVE) The master bedroom has views of the garden space.

(ABOVE) The office occupies the top floor of the townhome. The space receives lots of natural light and has a small roof deck to the right and a large deck with a jacuzzi to the left. From here you’ll definitely have great views of the city.

(ABOVE) The garden space off the kitchen is such a great place to hang out in and unwind after a long day. Being that there is a park adjacent the townhome, you’re fully engulfed in trees and natural beauty. My only wish is that the garden had grass rather than stone floors.
