Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balm Review Photos

Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balm ($6 for 6gms)

These super cute cupcake shaped lip balms were in some of the Memeboxes – unfortunately ones that I didn’t order. I got so seriously obsessed about getting my paws on some of them that I researched the web and found a site that stocked them and shipped to India. The result, 3 gorgeous cupcake shaped balms in different flavours were all mine!

The 3 flavours that I have are Lemon Cupcake, Red Cupcake and Pink Cupcake. All three look extremely different in the pot.

Packaging – You have to hand it to the Koreans, they sure know how to package a product and make it completely stand out from the rest of the similar stuff available. Wish I could get my hands on all the flavours cause each of them look so different and yummy.

Each cupcake has a completely different “topping” making the lid shapes and weights unique. In fact the lid on the Red cupcake is so heavy it doesn’t stay open without tilting over the side of the lid. All the Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balms have a clasp opening and the lid flips open without coming off completely.

Shades – Although all the shades look very different in the jar, on the lips they look almost the same. The red one does swatch a little brighter on the hand, however given how pigmented my lips are they all look the same. You can argue that the lemon one looks a tad lighter than the other two, but only just.

All three give a really sheer wash of colour to the lips – nothing like some of the tinted lip balms I have used earlier.

Texture & Formula – All three of the Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balms are super soft and cushiony. They all go on nicely on the lips, though your fingers do tend to get a bit of a tint whilst applying. The balm is not at all waxy or thick, it slides on easily and is quite nicely hydrating and moisturizing. Over the last few years I have begun preferring the softer formulas to the thick waxy ones and these do not disappoint at all.

Fragrance – All of these have a mild fragrance reminiscent of the flavour each is supposed to represent. The flavour also has a mild albeit artificial lemon, or cherry flavour.

Overall Thoughts

A perfect little packaging for a cute little product that delivers on all the essentials. I have to hide Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balms from my daughter though, she thinks they are her toys. I love everything about these. The hoarder in me wants to acquire all of these and line them up….Perfection.
