Review & Experience – ITC Maurya, New Delhi

There are times when I just want to break the mundane routine and go on a vacation. But sometimes travelling out of city doesn’t look like the best thing to do and that’s where staycation comes into picture. I love staying at a hotel, far from my home and just enjoy my time by spending quality time with my daughter. We stayed at ITC Maurya last year around same time, and the stay was so pleasant that this time we couldn’t think of any other hotel and went back to our favorite luxury hotel in the city.

We stayed there for 2 nights 3 days. First day we stayed at ‘The Towers’ . The Towers block has its own reception, lounge, butler service and complimentary snacks & drinks at the bar/lounge. The room was quite big with a separate sitting area, study table etc. The view from the room was beautiful !

Room had complimentary fruit platter, brownies, water. Also the bath area is quite big with a huge bath tub, a shower cubicle, 2 bath robes, slippers & toiletries.

I love Fiama Di Wills products , especially the Aqua range

The best thing was that everything in the room or service was connected to an iPad, which was placed side table. You can control lightings in the room/ bath area, TV or browse through the menu & place an order.

Also the gesture that touched me the most is how the entire staff of ITC Maurya makes you feel special and at home. The moment they saw that I am staying with my daughter they arranged for a welcome cake, flowers & chocolates just for her. This is what sets ITC Maurya apart from the other luxury hotels.

Next morning we had breakfast at The Pavilion, which is next to Bukhara. The breakfast spread was huge ! In room dining experience was equally good and food was delicious !

Next Day we moved to The One Room , which is in a different block and quite luxurious as compared to The Towers one. The room is huge! So was the ‘Four Fixtures’ bathroom with a walk-in closet.

The bath area again had a shower cubicle, which I didn’t see during our last stay. Nevertheless, everything in this room screamed luxury & comfort.

Also the staff had couple of more surprises planned for my daughter. They gifted her some more chocolates & brownies, stuffed toy and a pillow with her name embroidered on it. I was overwhelmed and my daughter was ecstatic ! She happily posed with her Tweety Bird

We went to The Golf Bar for evening snacks & drinks and had not-so-pleasant experience there. Staff was less and they hardly had any communication between them. We asked for starters thrice and only after 20 minutes the server came back saying there was some miscommunication and the starter is no more available ! I was so furious, because first we had to wave at the every time we wanted something and they tried not to make eye contact and secondly they had no clear communication with the kitchen area. So that was downer and ruined our evening.

We had our breakfast at “The West View”, the place has a victorian feel to it. I enjoyed the breakfast thoroughly at such a cosy and calm place.

Overall ITC Maurya will always be my first choice when it comes to staycations. Staff is courteous, humble and friendly. They made our stay a memorable one. I also enjoyed an hour of pampering at Kaya Kalp Spa. If you are looking for a comfortable & luxurious place to stay, then I will highly recommend ITC Maurya.
